After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to suspend the Scientific Poster Session for this year's Summit.

While we were pleased to receive several outstanding submissions, we ultimately did not receive enough applications to create the robust poster competition and showcase we envisioned. Combined with this year's updated Summit format, we believe it is in the best interest of both the program and its participants to postpone the competition rather than offer a diminished experience.

 

Importantly, this is not the end of the Anthony Shuker Scientific Poster Session. We are committed to continuing the program and plan to transition it to a future Georgia Life Sciences Institute workforce-focused event during the academic year,

where we believe it will provide even greater visibility and engagement for student researchers.

Who can participate?

This opportunity is open to representatives from Georgia-based academia, research institutes and industry alike, and we especially encourage students and post-doctoral fellows to participate.

What are the categories?

Abstracts will be subject to the same scientific review as for any national or regional meeting. The scientific content of poster presentations should be rooted in the life sciences, such as the following example categories:

For selected student, post-doctoral, or non-profit organization abstracts, the corresponding author will receive complimentary Summit registration. Additionally, student-submitted posters will be eligible for a limited number of poster awards.

Judging

A panel of judges will review all submitted abstracts and the top 20 abstracts will be invited to participate in a live judging session in late July. The top 10 semi-finalists will be invited to attend the Georgia Life Sciences Summit for free where the winners will be announced.
